Prsnt app sees user surge after Dragons' Den & joint backing
Prsnt, a digital gifting app, has seen a surge in users and interest after an appearance on BBC's Dragons' Den, culminating in three Dragons agreeing to a joint investment.
Since its feature on the television programme, tens of thousands of people have signed up to use Prsnt, sending thousands of gifts instantly via text message. The app enables users to send items such as coffee, clothing and even holidays to friends and family members without the need for physical wrapping, postage, or risk of missed deliveries. Prsnt currently works with more than 100 brands, including Starbucks, Adidas, Selfridges, and M&S.
Dragons' interest
During the taping of Dragons' Den, the founders of Prsnt attracted the attention of three Dragons - Sara Davies, Touker Solyman, and Peter Jones - who chose to make a joint investment offer. Moments such as this, where multiple Dragons join forces, are known to be uncommon on the programme.
"Having the backing of Sara, Touker and Peter is a dream come true. Their knowledge, experience and networks are exactly what we need for Prsnt to become the go-to gifting companion. After our pitch in the Den, we met with all three shortly after to talk business plans. I'm not going into detail, they've got some brilliant ideas, but you'll have to follow the Prsnt journey to see where we take it."
Endorsements from the Dragons
Prsnt received praise from all three investors, with each offering a perspective on the app's potential and appeal. According to Sara Davies, "whoever came up with it is so smart." Peter Jones commented, "This has huge international potential, sending gifts worldwide in seconds, no ones doing this." Touker Solyman added, "This is a marketplace no ones done before, dedicated gifting, smart."
Platform functionality
The app is positioned as a more sustainable alternative to traditional gifts and greeting cards, removing what the company describes as the "faff" of physical delivery. Users select a gift from partner brands and send it directly to a recipient's phone number along with a personalised message. The aim is to create "moments that matter" by making the gifting process straightforward and personal.
Speaking about the wider ambition behind the app, Prsnt co-founder Omid Moallemi said, "Prsnt has always been about making gifting feel human again. We're not just letting people send gifts, we're helping people create moments that matter. And now we're seeing thousands of those moments shared every single day."
Growth since television debut
Consumer interest has grown significantly since the television segment aired. The founders report that tens of thousands of users have registered, with thousands of gifts now exchanged daily across the UK. Prsnt's integration with well-known high street brands and retailers is cited as a key factor in driving engagement.
The company states that its long-term vision is to become the "go-to gifting companion" for consumers, aiming to modernise a sector it describes as "stuck in the Victorian era." By leveraging partnerships and investment backing, Prsnt plans to further widen its offering and reach new markets in the coming months and years.
The founders are focused on continuing the app's current momentum, with future developments influenced by collaboration with their new investment partners. Details of the business plan and upcoming features have not been disclosed.
