Voyado’s UK customer base grows 40% amid AI retail demand

Wed, 19th Nov 2025

Voyado, a customer experience suite focused on retail, has recorded a 40% year-on-year increase in its UK customer base, driven by new retail partnerships and increased demand for data- and AI-driven customer engagement technologies.

Customer growth

The UK growth comes following the addition of retailers such as Never Fully Dressed, The Edinburgh Woollen Mill, John Smedley, ThruDark, Pooky Lighting, and Menkind. These new agreements highlight increased investment by UK retailers in European technology that supports the delivery of smoother, more tailored shopping experiences and cultivates repeat business.

Retailers are facing pressure from rising operational costs, evolving customer expectations, and the greater complexity involved in delivering consistent service across multiple sales channels. Many are prioritising technology that can help them meet demands for speed and personalisation, with AI playing an expanding role.

Technology role

"Retail is entering an agentic era, where AI doesn't just analyse data but acts on it. Retailers that embrace this change can deliver personalisation and loyalty faster and more effectively. Because Voyado unites multiple capabilities in one suite, built entirely for retail, it enables teams to act on data faster and deliver more value across the customer journey," said Thomas Harris, Chief Revenue Officer, Voyado.

Voyado's UK momentum forms part of a larger period of business expansion across Europe. The company's recent valuation was SEK 3.5 billion (GBP £260 million), with plans to continue building its presence in the UK and Ireland. Backing from global investment firm Viking Global Investors, now holding majority ownership, is providing additional support for this next stage of growth.

Sector partnerships

Recent UK and Ireland customer acquisitions span sectors including fashion, lifestyle, and heritage retail. These retailers are seeking platforms that drive revenue through more connected and personalised interactions with customers.

Voyado has also entered a strategic partnership with XCM, making it the exclusive customer engagement and loyalty partner for the retail sector. Through the combination of XCM's Horizon Customer Data Platform and Voyado's Engage platform, the partnership offers retailers data analysis and modelling to create a single customer view and drive hyper-personalised marketing across all customer interactions.

"Our partnership with Voyado is a game changer to the end-to-end solution we can offer to the industry moving forward. It will enable retailers to truly understand and engage their customers on a new level. By combining Horizon's real-time data integration and activation capabilities with Voyado's retail-focused AI, we're enabling brands to connect every data point, insight, and interaction into one seamless customer view. Together, we're turning intelligence into action empowering retailers to deliver personalised experiences that drive loyalty for long-term growth," said Luke Ibbetson, CEO, XCM.

The strategic partnership is expected to enable greater use of customer insight, connecting behavioural understanding with targeted engagement efforts.

"Working with XCM and their Horizon CDP allows us to bring Voyado's capabilities to life through richer, more connected data. This partnership helps retailers use their customer insight not just to understand behaviour, but to inspire meaningful engagement and sustainable growth," said Max Etheridge, Sales Director, Voyado.

Financial results

The company has continued to grow globally, reporting sustained annual growth of around 25% over the past few years. Factors behind this include a low churn rate, strong customer retention, and entry into new markets, even as the broader retail sector faces increasing pressure. Voyado attributes this performance to increased demand for technology platforms that are comprehensive and specialised but avoid the complexity associated with larger providers.

The UK team's expansion is being led from the London office, with operations covering the Nordics, UK, Ireland, Benelux, and DACH regions. Voyado has positioned itself as a core platform for European retailers aiming to optimise loyalty, increase customer lifetime value, and target sustained business growth.
