Tata Consultancy Services has opened an AI-focused creative engineering studio in London, expanding its TCS Interactive network in the UK.

The 4,500-square-foot facility is designed as a workspace where clients can collaborate with designers, strategists, industry specialists and engineers on customer experience projects that use artificial intelligence.

The launch comes as companies move beyond early AI trials and invest more in operational use. TCS cited research showing that 64% of customer experience leaders plan to increase investment in AI and related technologies through 2026.

The London studio is part of TCS Interactive, the group's digital design, marketing and experience-led transformation business. It is intended to give regional clients access to local teams and TCS's wider global studio network.

The site will support end-to-end work, from testing early ideas to turning them into products and broader customer experiences. The London operation also builds on a studio opened in New York in 2025.

UK investment

The move is also part of TCS's broader expansion in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The company plans to create 5,000 jobs across the region over the next three years in response to shifts in client demand and changes in how AI is used across business operations.

TCS, part of Tata Group, has been expanding its AI consulting and services business as large companies look for ways to connect design, engineering and data work more closely. It reported consolidated revenue of more than USD $30 billion in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2026.

The London opening also reflects a hiring focus on people with creative, business and technical skills. That mirrors a wider industry trend as service providers try to bring together disciplines that were often handled separately in large digital projects.

Vinay Singhvi, Head - UK & Ireland, TCS, said: "The UK&I is a vital market for TCS, and this studio reflects our commitment to driving innovation for our clients and AI-led creative engineering. This expansion underscores our confidence in the UK's strong technology ecosystem and aligns with the government's vision for fostering innovation."

Client demand

Companies across sectors have been reassessing how customer-facing services are designed as generative AI and automation tools become more widely available. That has created demand for workspaces and teams that combine strategy, design and engineering in a single process rather than through sequential handovers.

Kamal Bhadada, President, TCS Interactive, said: "Our vision is to help our clients unlock new growth opportunities by orchestrating strategy, product design, engineering, and insights with an AI-led approach. The London studio is at the heart of this global network of hybrid talent, connecting our UK clients to our global capabilities to create and activate new experiences, drive adoption, and sustain growth through insights."

Analysts say that shift is changing how consulting and IT services groups present their offerings to clients. Rather than positioning design and engineering as separate stages, many are trying to show they can combine the two more closely around measurable commercial goals.

Nitish Mittal, Partner, Everest Group, said: "For years, enterprises treated design and engineering as separate phases; brief one team, hand off to the next, and hope the experience survives the journey. What clients want now is those disciplines working as one, shifting from 'can we use AI' to 'can we use it to create experiences customers genuinely value.' The kind of dedicated co-creation space TCS is opening in London is an example of how that convergence might happen, close to the client and the work."
