Wipro & IBM launch Enterprise AI-Ready Platform for generative AI adoption
Fri, 23rd Feb 2024

Wipro, an IT consultancy and business process services company, has announced its partnership with technology giant IBM to introduce the Enterprise AI-Ready Platform. This new development seeks to promote enterprise-scale acceptance of Generative AI.

Employing IBM's proprietary 'watsonx', the new platform intends to facilitate more straightforward integration and standardisation of multiple data sources. It's designed to further incorporate AI across various business procedures in a seamless manner. The announcement falls under the umbrella of an expanded partnership between the two tech behemoths.

Wipro’s Enterprise AI-Ready Platform, a configurable, fully integrated service for enterprise-level deployment of AI environments, utilises IBM watsonx's AI and data platform, including watsonx.ai, watsonx.data, and watsonx.governance and AI assistants. The service is structured to significantly accelerate AI adoption while providing clients with a collection of features including tools, large language models (LLMs), streamlined processes, and robust governance. It lays the groundwork for future analytical solutions to be based on watsonx.data and AI.

The partnership expansion aims to merge Wipro's industry and technology proficiency with IBM's foremost AI and hybrid cloud innovations. This joint venture hopes to construct solutions that help boost the deployment of reliable, integrated, and enterprise-ready AI solutions.

"Combining our deep contextual cloud, AI, and industry expertise with IBM's leading AI innovation capabilities, the solutions we are creating will help enterprises achieve new levels of flexibility when building their enterprise-specific AI ecosystems" said Jo Debecker, Managing Partner & Global Head, Wipro FullStride Cloud. He further noted that their ultimate goal is to allow enterprises to consume AI in a more efficient, sustainable, reliable, and agile manner.

To bolster these pursuits, IBM and Wipro will fund a centralized tech hub, named IBM TechHub@Wiprosolution. This hub will house a network of engineers and subject matter experts who will develop and support AI solutions for joint clients.

The AI platform will also leverage watsonx.governance to automate governance throughout the AI lifecycle. This will help businesses monitor risks and adhere to the principles of responsible AI, which focuses on transparency, data protection and legal compliance.

Nagendra Bandaru, Managing Partner and President at Wipro Enterprise Futuring, stated that the Enterprise AI-Ready Platform would facilitate client integration and standardisation of multiple data sources. This aids in the transformation of business processes augmented by AI and GenAI. Clients will have the freedom to co-develop their custom applications or develop their preferred models based on the foundational models and tools available on the platform.

As part of this expanded partnership, Wipro associates will receive training in IBM hybrid cloud, AI, and data analytics technologies. This step will further hasten the development of joint solutions.
