Printful & Printify announce merger for sustainable growth

Fri, 8th Nov 2024

Printful and Printify have announced a merger to enhance their platform offerings in the eCommerce sector.

The merger of these two technology companies aims to expand production-on-demand capabilities for eCommerce sellers, reducing the environmental impact associated with bulk manufacturing. Both companies will retain their brand identities, with plans to introduce new offerings to customers on both platforms.

This strategic move has already received regulatory clearance and strong backing from shareholders, as announced in Riga, Latvia and Charlotte, USA. The combined entity plans to utilise Printful's in-house production facilities alongside Printify's network of over 85 third-party production partners to expand its product range and geographical reach.

Currently, Printful and Printify serve a diverse clientele, including solo entrepreneurs, brand developers, and major entertainment firms leveraging creative merchandise to engage audiences. By integrating their resources, the new company intends to offer more customised solutions to this broad customer base.

Printful and Printify's merger represents a commitment to shifting from mass production to more sustainable production-on-demand methods, which could reduce overproduction waste. This approach is intended not only to advance business growth efficiently but also to address environmental concerns.

Alex Saltonstall, Chief Executive Officer of Printful, expressed enthusiasm about the merger: "This is an exciting moment for everyone. Printify is a business that we have long respected, and I believe that there is a natural fit between the two companies. As our discussions progressed, we found that our cultures are very similar, while our businesses are even more complementary than we initially believed. I'm excited to see our two great technology companies combine strengths and provide our customers with ever-improving opportunities to fulfil their business goals."

Anastasija Oleinika, Chief Executive Officer of Printify, highlighted the benefits for merchants: "Our combined company will give our merchants more. More top-quality products, more places to sell, more innovative solutions, and more growth and profit."

Oleinika also emphasised the talent development aspect, stating, "We're also going to be able to provide best-in-class learning, talent density, and development opportunities for our teams. In recent years, the Latvian tech and entrepreneurial scene has caught up with our neighbours in the Baltics and Eastern Europe. This merger will not only help to crystallise that position but also give us the platform to be a destination for top talent from around Europe and the world."

The merger between Printful and Printify marks a significant step in enhancing eCommerce offerings and promoting sustainable production-on-demand methods. By combining Printful's in-house production capabilities with Printify's extensive third-party network, the partnership aims to provide a broader range of products and services while reducing the environmental impact of bulk manufacturing. This strategic alignment is designed to offer more customised solutions for various eCommerce sellers, ultimately driving growth, innovation, and improved merchant profitability.
