Ignition & Cranium team up to tackle EU AI Act compliance

Wed, 5th Jun 2024

The complex landscape of artificial intelligence (AI) regulation in Europe is set to see transformative changes, following the announcement of a strategic partnership between Ignition Technology and Cranium. This partnership aims to aid organisations in navigating new compliance challenges introduced by the EU Artificial Intelligence Act.

The EU AI Act is a pioneering piece of legislation that seeks to establish a global standard for AI governance. Its introduction signifies Europe's commitment to ensuring responsible and ethical AI deployment, addressing the multifaceted regulatory environment that organisations must adhere to when implementing AI technologies.

The collaboration between Ignition, a specialist in SaaS-based cybersecurity, and Cranium, an enterprise AI security and trust software leader, is poised to provide European channel partners with an innovative proposition. This alliance will leverage Cranium's Exposure Management Solution, which aims to give security teams unparalleled visibility into their organisations' AI ecosystems. The solution offers critical tools and insights, enabling precise and swift action to align with compliance requirements.

Felix Knoll, COO/CRO and Co-Founder of Cranium, highlighted the significance of Europe's leadership in AI regulation. "Europe is leading the way when it comes to ensuring responsible and ethical AI implementation with the introduction of the EU AI Act. This presents new challenges for organisations deploying AI in terms of governance and compliance. However, it also presents new opportunities to innovate and create value. We needed a trusted European partner to leverage these opportunities, one with specialist security expertise, extensive partner reach and with proven go-to-market success. Ignition ticked all these boxes and we're delighted to be working with them," Knoll remarked.

Ignition Technology's Chief Strategy Officer, Sean Remnant, reflected on the positive implications of the new legislation. "Legislation can sometimes be seen as a blocker to innovation, but we see the new EU AI Act as a catalyst, providing the necessary frameworks and guardrails to ensure AI adoption across organisations is done securely, safely and responsibly. Our collaboration with Cranium will enable our partners to address the complex challenges of complying with this new legislation by providing their customers with visibility of their AI landscape, identify risk and deliver peace of mind. We're looking forward to a mutually beneficial relationship working with them," he commented.

Cranium recently inaugurated its EU AI Hub in collaboration with KPMG and Microsoft, based in Dublin, Ireland. This hub integrates KPMG's Trusted Responsible AI Framework with Cranium's enterprise software platform and Microsoft's AI technologies. The aim is to create new tools to assist developers and businesses during AI deployment, thereby providing organisations with the essential solutions and insights needed for navigating AI compliance and complexity.

The partnership between Ignition Technology and Cranium marks a significant step towards ensuring that European and multinational enterprises can comply with the EU AI Act. It reflects a joint effort to foster secure and responsible AI adoption, thereby mitigating risks and promoting innovation within the AI sector.
