HG Insights launches AI software review monitoring

HG Insights has launched a software review platform designed to help B2B technology vendors track how artificial intelligence search tools describe their products. The service expands its TrustRadius vendor offering into a broader product called HG Customer Voice.

The launch centres on what HG Insights calls GEO monitoring, which lets vendors see how their products are cited and characterised in AI-generated answers. It is designed to show which prompts mention a product, which rivals appear alongside it and which AI engines are drawing on TrustRadius content.

HG Customer Voice combines TrustRadius software reviews with HG Insights technographic data and an optimisation service for vendors that want help shaping how their products appear in AI-driven research. The platform also includes data on which industries, departments, company sizes and regions use a product, based on HG Insights' market coverage.

The move reflects a wider shift in B2B software buying behaviour as buyers increasingly use AI tools during research. HG Insights cited TrustRadius data showing that 63% of technology buyers now use AI to research software and that 83% shortlist three or fewer products.

Monitoring tools

The new dashboard is organised into three sections. Product Monitoring tracks how a vendor's product is mentioned in AI-generated answers and compares those mentions with rivals on a prompt-by-prompt basis.

Category Monitoring looks across a broader software segment to identify emerging competitors and measure brand visibility in wider AI queries. A third section, Crawler Analytics, shows which AI engines are reading a vendor's TrustRadius content, how often they do so and whether those crawls are for live answer retrieval or model training.

The system uses analytics, AI search intelligence and competitive benchmarking from Conductor, which HG Insights described as an answer engine optimisation platform integrated into the service.

The TrustRadius review platform now also includes embedded HG Insights technographic information on primary product pages, giving buyers and AI engines access to product review content alongside market usage data.

AI research

HG Insights argued that this matters because software vendors have had limited visibility into what AI engines tell buyers about their products. As AI-generated responses increasingly appear at the start of the buying journey, vendors absent from those answers risk missing shortlists altogether.

According to HG Insights, TrustRadius receives about 60 million annualised crawls from major AI engines each year. Roughly half are real-time requests linked to live buyer questions.

That volume of AI traffic is central to the company's argument that TrustRadius pages can become a source for AI-generated software recommendations. It also said TrustRadius reviews average 400 words and are fully verified.

"AI search has fundamentally changed how B2B buyers evaluate software, and most vendors have no idea what's happening in that conversation," said Nik Koutsoukos, Vice President of Product Marketing at HG Insights.

"HG Customer Voice, powered by TrustRadius, gives vendors a seat at that conversation for the first time: they can finally see what AI engines tell buyers about their products and take action to increase buyer awareness, trust, and pipeline," Koutsoukos said.

Pricing model

HG Customer Voice is available with GEO monitoring included from a starting price of USD $30,000 a year under its Customer Voice Package subscriptions. Standard coverage includes Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode and ChatGPT.

A higher-tier package, CVP Premium, adds what HG Insights calls GEO Optimisation Services, as well as broader AI engine coverage. This includes Claude, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini and ChatGPT Search.

The optimisation service involves direct work with HG Insights staff on review content and prompt strategies linked to a vendor's go-to-market priorities. The aim is to align the content AI engines crawl with the questions buyers are asking.

The launch also deepens the integration between HG Insights and TrustRadius following the combination of the two businesses. HG Insights said buyer intent signals from TrustRadius feed back into its Revenue Growth Intelligence Fabric alongside its install and market data.

Rohini Kasturi, Chief Executive Officer of HG Insights, said the combination of software review material, usage data and AI visibility data reflects a change in how software buyers gather information.

"AI has changed who answers a buyer's first question. It used to be a search result; today it's an AI engine, answering with whatever content it trusts most. That's exactly the world we built for when we brought HG Insights and TrustRadius together. Our pages now answer the question every buyer asks, 'do companies like mine actually use this?', with real install data no other platform has. And the integration runs both ways: TrustRadius buyer intent signals flow back into HG's Revenue Growth Intelligence Fabric. No other company can connect what buyers research, what companies actually run, and what AI tells the market," Kasturi said.
