Ecommpay wins Best Alternative Payment Provider award
Ecommpay has been recognised as Best Alternative Payment Provider at the latest Payments Awards, acknowledging its work in providing a broad range of payment solutions to merchants across sectors.
The Payments Awards highlight organisations in the payments industry for excellence in services and technology. Other award categories include Best Digital Payments Solution Consumer, Best Instore Payments Solution, among others.
The Ecommpay platform supports more than 100 alternative payment methods (APMs) across Europe and Asia. These include regional solutions such as Bancontact, iDEAL, MULTIBANCO, EPS, Przelewy24 and BLIK in Europe, and Malaysian online banking, GCash, DOKU VA, PromptPay and Hong Kong FPS QR in Asia.
In addition to the wide selection of APMs, the platform offers international and local acquiring, end-to-end payment processing, and orchestration. All services are accessed through a single application programming interface (API), aiming to unify payment experiences for businesses managing multi-market operations.
Ecommpay is focused on making payments accessible and sustainable for a diverse base of merchants and consumers. The company's approach includes developing an accessible website, integrating its own fraud protection systems, and working to eliminate common payment obstacles, delays, and costs.
The company has also prioritised enabling eCommerce merchants and financial technology firms to embed inclusivity and sustainability practices into their operations by providing access to alternative payment options and operational tools.
"Ecommpay was founded on a vision to revolutionise the digital payment landscape for eCommerce," said Willem Wellinghoff, UK Chair, Ecommpay. "Winning this prestigious award is an honour and demonstrates the value of the investment we have made in developing and delivering the best possible payments platform for our merchants and their customers.
The company reported several updates to its platform over the past year, aimed at enhancing its functionality, accessibility, and capacity to serve a broader user base. These developments reflect Ecommpay's stated commitment to advancing financial inclusion across global markets.
Alongside its payments stack, Ecommpay integrates proprietary fraud protection measures. By providing all services on its platform, the firm avoids reliance on third-party vendors for core operational and compliance functions, said Ecommpay.
Ecommpay holds authorisation from the UK's Financial Conduct Authority and is a principal member of global card networks. Its payment platform's compliance with industry standards supports its activities in regulated domains, particularly in Europe and Asia.
The award underscores the role of alternative payment methods in the continued evolution of global commerce infrastructure. Ecommpay intends to further expand its payment offerings, focusing on removing friction, widening access, and supporting the transaction needs of digital merchants across multiple geographies.
"As part of our commitment to bring about financial inclusivity for all, we have made many important changes to our platform in the past year to improve its capabilities, accessibility and inclusivity. This win is testament to the dedication and passion of our entire team," said Wellinghoff.
