Applexus Technologies acquires Absoft to enhance SAP services

Fri, 31st May 2024

In a strategic move set to bolster its presence in the UK and Europe, global SAP services provider Applexus Technologies has acquired UK-based SAP implementation and managed services company Absoft Limited. The acquisition, announced today, aims to create a differentiated provider in the SAP space by combining the strengths and offerings of both firms.

Applexus Technologies, known for its specialisation in SAP advisory and business transformation services, has delivery centres across the United States, Canada, the UK, India, and Sri Lanka, and employs over 500 consultants. Absoft, established in 1991, has made a name for itself in sectors such as transportation, energy, the public sector, and manufacturing by providing comprehensive SAP solutions, including SAP S/4HANA, analytics, and cloud services.

The amalgamated firm will leverage its extensive expertise in SAP S/4HANA, Analytics, HCM, and both private and public cloud environments to serve a variety of industries including retail, fashion, consumer goods, manufacturing, energy, and logistics. Notably, Absoft will play a pivotal role in spearheading growth for the combined entity in the UK and European markets.

This merger is anticipated to bring significant enhancements to the range of services offered. Clients can expect enriched industry-aligned SAP solutions and implementation accelerators for sectors such as oil and gas, manufacturing, rail, and the public sector. Both firms will utilise a global delivery model with a workforce of over 600 staff situated across North America, Europe, Asia, and Sri Lanka to deliver these services.

The collaboration is expected to be a game-changer for S/4HANA transformations, merging unique intellectual property assets from both organisations. Applexus’s CeleRITE, an AI-powered platform that automates the migration of code, configurations, data, and security for quick S/4HANA migrations, will integrate with Absoft's DATAMA solution. This joint effort will enable customers to migrate only necessary data, addressing one of the major challenges in S/4HANA migrations and accelerating mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures through automated selective transitions.

Ian Mechie, Founder and Chairman of Absoft, expressed his enthusiasm for the new venture by stating, “The Absoft leadership team is delighted to take charge of driving growth for the combined entity in the UK and Europe. Our customers will now have access to a significantly wider range of services across advisory, implementation, and support services for S/4HANA, analytics, private & public cloud, HCM/SuccessFactors, SAP BTP, and other technologies. This also allows all our employees to continue to grow their skills and take forward all the good things we have built so far.”

Sam Mathew, CEO and Founder of Applexus, echoed this sentiment, saying, “We are thrilled to join forces with Absoft and grow together as one team. This acquisition aligns strongly with our overall growth strategy and helps us expand our presence in the UK and Europe, a key focus geography for us. Our strong cultural fit and shared values make us ideal partners.”

Keith Davidson, Managing Director at Absoft, also commented on the synergy between the two companies, “Together with Applexus we are able to scale our industry and services footprint while adding complementary IP solutions. We can now offer 24/7 global services when our customers need it while continuing to provide the high-touch service we are known for.”

The unification of Absoft and Applexus is poised to significantly enhance their market presence and service capabilities. Customers across North America, the UK, Europe, and Asia Pacific can look forward to an expanded array of services backed by robust global delivery capabilities and a commitment to innovation and excellence in SAP solutions.
