Alentr has appointed Richard Jackson as Chief Revenue Officer, adding a senior eCommerce executive to its leadership team.
Jackson joins the London-based pricing governance software company as it expands commercial operations among enterprise retailers. He will oversee revenue growth and commercial execution as retailers face growing pressure to manage pricing more tightly across sales channels.
His appointment brings long-standing eCommerce and digital services experience to a business focused on helping retailers control product-level pricing decisions. Alentr describes its product as a control layer that governs how pricing is executed in real time while keeping decisions aligned with margin and brand objectives.
Jackson has held senior roles across agencies, software businesses and digital product groups. He founded Session Digital, an eCommerce agency, and Inviqa, a digital product agency focused on enterprise customer experience.
After Havas CX acquired Inviqa, he worked on business development initiatives linked to digital product and customer experience projects for major brands. More recently, he was part of the UK leadership team at BigCommerce, where he managed agency channel partnerships across Northern Europe.
The move gives Alentr a commercial leader with experience in both agency and software sales models. That background is likely to matter for a company selling to large retailers, which often buy technology through a mix of direct relationships, consulting partners and systems integrators.
Jackson outlined his view of the market in a statement accompanying the appointment.
"Retailers are under increasing pressure to make faster commercial decisions while maintaining control over margin outcomes across every channel. Alentr is solving a critical problem at exactly the right moment in the market. The opportunity to help retailers operationalise contextual AI pricing in a governed, practical, commercially measurable way is incredibly exciting," said Richard Jackson, Chief Revenue Officer, Alentr.
Alentr's co-founders said the appointment marks the next phase of the company's development as it pushes further into enterprise retail accounts.
"Richard brings a rare combination of eCommerce knowledge, SI agency success, SaaS product development, and enterprise growth experience. He understands how to build and scale commercial teams, and help customers translate technology investment into measurable business outcomes. As Alentr enters its commercial stage of growth, Richard's leadership will be instrumental," said Andy Vanags, Co-Founder, Alentr.
Co-Founder Meghan Stabler highlighted Jackson's experience helping brands navigate large digital change programmes and develop routes to market.
"Richard has spent his career helping brands navigate complex digital transformation challenges with a relentless focus on commercial impact. He understands the ecosystem, the customer pressures, and how to build scalable routes to market. We're thrilled to welcome him to Alentr as we continue expanding our presence across enterprise retail," said Stabler.
Retail focus
Alentr operates in a part of the retail technology market focused on applying AI to pricing without losing managerial control over margins and brand positioning. Pricing has become more complex as retailers sell across websites, marketplaces, stores and other digital channels, and as automated systems play a larger role in changing prices.
That has created demand for software that not only recommends prices but also sets the rules for how those decisions are carried out. Alentr says its system governs pricing execution at SKU level across every channel, including agentic environments.
For retail technology suppliers, commercial leadership is often critical when moving from product development to broader enterprise sales. The role typically combines direct sales, partner management and the task of turning technical propositions into a business case that resonates with large customers.
Jackson's track record suggests Alentr wants to strengthen the link between product positioning and revenue execution. His experience at BigCommerce gave him exposure to channel partnerships in Northern Europe, while his earlier agency work brought familiarity with the longer sales cycles and transformation budgets associated with large retail and consumer brands.
The company's focus on pricing governance also places it in a segment where buyers may be especially concerned about oversight. Retailers have embraced automation in merchandising and pricing, but many remain cautious about handing core commercial decisions entirely to systems without controls tied to profitability and brand intent.
That tension between speed and governance is central to the pitch made by suppliers in this market. Jackson echoed that theme in his remarks, saying retailers need to make faster decisions while keeping control over margin outcomes across every channel.
