XPO Logistics wins EcoVadis Gold for top sustainability marks
XPO Logistics has received the EcoVadis Gold Medal for sustainability excellence for the second consecutive year, earning a top industry ranking for its environmental, social, and governance performance.
The company reported achieving a record EcoVadis assessment score of 82 out of 100, positioning it in the 98th percentile of all companies rated by EcoVadis. This places XPO Logistics among the top 2% of companies globally and in the top 1% within its specific industry sector according to the EcoVadis sustainability ratings platform.
EcoVadis is a widely used business sustainability rating provider, with its ratings being referenced by over 700 multinational corporations to help evaluate supply chain partners. XPO Logistics' Gold Medal status reflects strong results across the organisation's performance on the Environment, Labour and Human Rights, Sustainable Procurement, and Ethics pillars.
GHG emissions reductions
Since 2019, XPO Logistics Europe has reduced its Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 20%, surpassing its 2030 target well ahead of schedule. In addition, in 2024 the company reported its first achievements in cutting Scope 3 emissions, avoiding more than 58 million kilograms of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) through the adoption of cleaner energy sources, lower-emission fuels, and modal shift projects.

The company's leadership emphasised the role of staff in achieving the company's sustainability goals and the significance of the award as a mark of progress in integrating responsible practices into daily operations.

Alignment with global frameworks
The renewed EcoVadis recognition also highlights XPO Logistics' alignment with several international sustainability frameworks, including the United Nations Global Compact, the Paris Agreement, and the European Green Deal. These frameworks outline principles and targets for companies aiming to operate in alignment with global climate action and sustainable development objectives.
