Workwear Mallusk adopts cloud ERP to boost eCommerce growth
Workwear Mallusk has decided to implement Forterro's Orderwise Cloud ERP and Warehouse Management Solution as part of its strategy to enhance eCommerce operations and manage increased business demands.
The County Antrim-based supplier of workwear and personal protective equipment (PPE) has experienced sustained growth, leading to operational pressures on its existing systems. The move to Orderwise Cloud is set to replace the company's previous technology, which was no longer able to cope with the rising volume of orders and the need for integration with online channels.
Workwear Mallusk, which is headquartered in Northern Ireland, serves customers across the UK with a variety of workwear and PPE products. Recent expansion and the acquisition of new contracts have driven the decision to update its software infrastructure.
Before this transition, the company's earlier system had become a limiting factor. The legacy approach created increased manual administration, with the lack of seamless integration with the website being a notable obstacle as customer demand grew. The business identified Orderwise as the solution most suited to these challenges.
"Orderwise came highly recommended by others in our sector and immediately stood out for its flexibility and ease of use," said Gavin Kane, IT Manager, Workwear Mallusk. "We needed a solution that could grow with us and help us reduce the volume of manual tasks holding us back. The ability to integrate with our online channels and introduce handheld scanners into the warehouse was also a major factor."
The adoption of Orderwise Cloud Growth Platform is expected to provide Workwear Mallusk with enhanced visibility into operational data, improved stock management, and a reduction in manual work. The company anticipates that these improvements will enable it to concentrate more on business development and product range expansion.
Orderwise Cloud, designed for distribution, wholesale, manufacturing, and retail sectors, is built on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The platform will connect the key business functions of Workwear Mallusk into an integrated system, aiming to reduce organisational complexity, automate routine processes, and support further digitalisation.
"Workwear Mallusk is a great example of a business ready to embrace digital transformation in order to scale successfully," said Tom Price, Director, Forterro. "Orderwise Cloud gives them a connected, modern solution that streamlines eCommerce integration, improves warehouse accuracy and sets them up for future growth."
Key features highlighted by Workwear Mallusk in selecting Orderwise Cloud include better integration with its online sales channels and the ability to implement handheld scanner technology in its warehouse operations. These enhancements are designed to create efficiencies and reduce manual processing, which had previously become a bottleneck as volumes increased.
The implementation of the cloud solution is expected to enable Workwear Mallusk to achieve more robust stock control, alongside providing reporting and analytical capabilities that support business decision-making. With more streamlined processes, the business aims to allocate resources more effectively and pursue additional contracts within the UK market.
The transition to Orderwise Cloud is viewed by both Workwear Mallusk and Forterro as a means of supporting long-term stability and growth, particularly as the eCommerce sector continues to expand and digital capabilities become more integral to manufacturing and distribution businesses.
