VinciWorks has appointed Shmuli Goldberg as Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Josh Goodhardt, who will remain with the business in an advisory role.

Goldberg takes over from his dual role as Chief Marketing Officer and Head of AI. Goodhardt will stay on through the transition and until the end of the financial year.

The leadership change follows a period of expansion for the compliance eLearning and software provider. Since its acquisition by Marlowe in 2021, VinciWorks has completed five acquisitions and integrated them into a single product, technology and course library.

VinciWorks later became part of Axiom GRC, a governance, risk and compliance group backed by private equity firm Inflexion. The wider group serves more than 40,000 clients and 2 million users globally.

Goodhardt has been with VinciWorks for nearly two decades. He rose through operations leadership to become Chief Operating Officer before taking the Chief Executive Officer role in 2021.

Commenting on the handover, he said the company's next stage required different leadership. "Our product set is ripe for disruption, and the team is in place. What VinciWorks needs next is someone who can run at the target, and Shmuli is exactly that leader," said Goodhardt.

Goldberg joined VinciWorks three years ago as Chief Marketing Officer. Before that, he spent nearly two decades in technology startups, leading marketing, communications and commercial teams in legal technology, cyber security and data protection at ClickTale, Feedvisor, LawGeex and Identiq.

AI focus

A central part of Goldberg's remit is the company's use of artificial intelligence in compliance training. His priority is to make training feel tailored to each learner while keeping expert-written course content at the centre of the product.

VinciWorks has already offered customised courses to clients through bespoke development and an in-browser editor. AI now allows that level of adaptation to be applied at broader scale across organisations.

This work includes an AI authoring tool that VinciWorks is preparing to launch. Goldberg is also continuing the company's work on Conversational Learning, an interactive format introduced in the eLearning sector in 2025, and AI Enhanced Editing, which lets customers adapt existing compliance courses more quickly to suit their business requirements.

In his first comments after the appointment, Goldberg said: "I am hugely honoured to take this on. Josh has spent nearly twenty years building VinciWorks into the company it is today, and I do not take the responsibility of building on that lightly. My priority is to keep doing the things that already make VinciWorks work, while moving faster to meet where our customers and the market are heading."

He also linked the company's AI work to the delivery of compliance training. "Good compliance training changes behaviour, and humans train humans best. Our courses are written by subject matter experts and built on real, lived experience, and that will not change. What AI does brilliantly is adapt that expert-built training to any organisation's exact circumstances, faster than ever before," Goldberg said.

Group backing

The appointment was also backed by VinciWorks' parent group, Axiom GRC. Alex Dacre, Chief Executive Officer of Axiom GRC, said the board saw the change as part of the company's next stage.

"Josh has been an exceptional leader, overseeing significant growth and playing a central role in building VinciWorks into the business it is today. On behalf of the Axiom GRC Board, I want to thank him for his contribution, and I am delighted to welcome Shmuli as CEO of VinciWorks as it enters its next phase of growth," said Dacre.
