ShipStation launches new features to streamline UK shipping
ShipStation has introduced a range of new features aimed at improving order fulfilment and shipping operations for UK businesses. The expanded platform includes enhanced analytics, inventory and warehouse management tools, and updated customer plans. These changes are intended to help small and mid-sized merchants manage shipping processes on a single platform, addressing commonly cited pain points such as inventory management and operational inefficiencies.
Analytics improvements
The platform now provides access to seven new reporting dashboards delivering insights on shipping operations, product performance, sales trends, inventory, warehouse efficiency, and comparison of revenue versus fulfilment costs.
Users can monitor these metrics to better forecast profitability and identify areas where efficiency can be improved. Data from the dashboards enable businesses to optimise delivery schedules as well as shipping costs, while providing a clearer view into trends that could impact customer delivery experiences.
"Whether shipping domestically or abroad, we're making it easier for UK merchants to automate and manage every stage of the fulfilment journey," said Kelly Vincent, Chief Product Officer, Auctane.
Inventory tools
ShipStation has introduced enhancements to inventory and warehouse management, including forecasting capabilities designed to help align stock levels with expected demand.
Merchants can also access new purchase order tools and lot tracking features, which enable more precise management of stock batches. A mobile barcode scanning integration helps with receiving and picking inventory, aiming to reduce errors and speed up order processing. These features extend existing inventory synchronisation functions across connected sales channels.
The new systems support users in addressing issues such as overstocking and stockouts by delivering tools to monitor and manage inventory in real time across multiple channels. This also offers improvements to handling re-orders and tracking inventory shipments.
"Businesses across the country can now run their operations with smart, affordable tools and choose the features that best fit their unique needs. By combining efficiency with data intelligence, we're unlocking greater cost savings and helping customers make informed decisions so they can focus on expanding," said Vincent.
Flexible plans
The updated plans include three new options designed for businesses at different stages of growth, responding to demand from merchants with a wide range of order volumes and budgets. The offering also includes a free plan option with limited volume for businesses with smaller shipping needs.
As competition in the eCommerce sector grows, the flexibility to adjust subscriptions according to operational requirements is seen as a critical consideration for businesses scaling up or managing seasonal fluctuations.
