ParkMundo has raised €2.3 million in seed funding, its first external capital after more than a decade of self-funded growth.

The Eindhoven-based airport parking technology platform secured the funding from angel investors with backgrounds in technology and travel, alongside additional financing from Rabobank. It plans to use the money to expand its consumer marketplace and business-to-business distribution operation.

Founded in 2013 by Jeroen van den Eerenbeemt and later joined by Martijn Meeuws, the business began as Vliegen en Parkeren before rebranding as ParkMundo. The round follows a rebuild of its technology infrastructure and the development of tools that allow airport parking to be sold as a travel add-on through partners including online travel agencies and airlines.

ParkMundo says it has facilitated millions of bookings and works with more than 850 partners in 15 countries. It operates across four continents, positioning itself in a market that remains fragmented despite its scale.

Alongside the financing, the company has added two board members with backgrounds in technology and travel: Jan-Willem van Boeckel, Founder of Treatwell, and Mattijs ten Brink, former Chief Executive Officer of Transavia and Sunweb Group.

Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder Martijn Meeuws linked the rebrand to the company's expansion beyond its original domestic focus.

“The evolution from Vliegen en Parkeren to ParkMundo reflects exactly where we stand today. We have transformed from a local player into a truly global platform, handling airport parking bookings worldwide while seamlessly serving both individual B2C travellers and enterprise B2B partners,” said Martijn Meeuws, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of ParkMundo.

“For years, airport parking has been one of the last major travel products operating through fragmented local systems. We believe travellers deserve the same seamless experience they expect when booking flights or hotels. Our ambition is to become the global infrastructure connecting parking operators with travellers wherever they book their trip,” Meeuws added.

Board additions

The appointments come as ParkMundo seeks to broaden distribution and increase its presence in international markets. Van Boeckel said the company's long period of profitable growth without outside capital set it apart.

“Over the past decade, ParkMundo has built an international business through disciplined, self-funded growth across multiple markets, with a strong focus on execution. That level of discipline is increasingly rare. The company is building on this foundation with capital, one global brand and proprietary, future-ready technology to accelerate growth and unlock new B2B distribution channels. This creates a powerful platform for long-term category leadership,” said Jan-Willem van Boeckel, Board Member at ParkMundo.

ParkMundo's business model now spans direct sales to travellers and distribution through travel brands. Its application programming interfaces allow airlines, online travel agencies and other partners to add airport parking within their booking flows.

The company argues that airport parking has lagged behind other travel products in digital distribution. In its view, that leaves room for consolidation and for platforms that can connect local operators to a broader customer base.

Ten Brink said airport parking remains underdeveloped within the wider travel market, despite its role in the traveller journey.

“Airport parking is often overlooked within the wider travel ecosystem, but it is a significant part of the traveller journey and a category with considerable room for innovation. Having spent much of my career in aviation and travel, I see strong potential in the way ParkMundo is approaching the market. The company has already built a substantial supply network and consumer business, and the move towards embedded distribution through travel partners is a logical next step. ParkMundo's plug-and-play API enables travel brands to integrate airport parking into their booking journey quickly and seamlessly, instantly accessing a global parking inventory. It creates value for travellers while opening attractive opportunities for growth,” said Mattijs ten Brink, Board Member at ParkMundo.

The investment marks a shift for a company that has spent most of its existence relying on retained earnings rather than venture funding. That is less common among travel technology businesses, many of which raise external capital early in their development.

ParkMundo has also been nominated for the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Award.
