Parcelhero launches live tracking & faster booking
Parcelhero has introduced live tracking and a redesigned booking interface on its parcel shipping platform, marking the first stage of a broader system update.
The new tools are aimed at both individual senders and small businesses using the same platform for domestic and cross-border deliveries. They include AI-based shipment tracking, faster booking, updated Customs checks, and a new dashboard for managing multiple consignments and support queries.
Roger Sumner-Rivers, Founder and CEO of Parcelhero, said: "From individuals sending the occasional parcel to fast-growing businesses, all of our customers will benefit from the introduction of these great new features. Our new AI-powered tracking technology delivers accuracy and speed. If a shipment requires attention, such as a Customs delay, our system will notify the sender immediately and provide built-in smart solutions to solve the issue before it escalates."
The live tracking system is intended to give senders a clearer view of a parcel's location in transit and highlight whether any action is needed. Parcelhero says it can identify issues such as Customs delays, alert users through the platform, and suggest steps to resolve the problem before the shipment is delayed further.
Booking changes
A key part of the update is the new booking process. The redesigned interface cuts the number of steps needed to book a shipment, particularly for first-time users. For repeat senders, stored address details and Customs information can now be filled in automatically, which should reduce the time needed to prepare regular shipments.
The changes reflect a wider push across logistics and eCommerce to remove friction from shipping transactions, especially for smaller businesses that may not have dedicated shipping teams. Simpler booking and clearer tracking have become more important as smaller merchants sell into more markets and handle more frequent cross-border paperwork.
Customs focus
Parcelhero has also revised its Customs process. The platform now uses product lookups to suggest tariff codes, reducing the need for users to search manually for classifications. It also flags vague descriptions or entries that could increase the risk of delays before a shipment is submitted.
This part of the process may be particularly important for sellers shipping internationally, where inaccurate declarations can slow deliveries, add costs, or trigger inspection. By checking for errors earlier in the booking flow, the platform aims to reduce administrative mistakes before parcels enter the carrier network.
Dashboard tools
Another addition is a dashboard for customers managing multiple shipments at once. It brings together tracking updates, alerts, and customer support tickets in one place. Users can create and monitor support requests directly through the platform rather than relying on email exchanges across different channels.
The dashboard also shows ticket status alongside shipment progress, helping users see whether a parcel issue is linked to a support case already under way. That may appeal to small online retailers and frequent senders seeking a more centralised view of shipments and service issues.
Other features added in this phase include password-free login, an automatic wallet top-up option, a live progress bar for shipment status, and tools to change collection dates, switch a booking to drop-off, or rebook failed collections.
Parcelhero described the launch as the first step in a broader overhaul of its technology platform. The aim is to support casual senders and business users through a single system rather than separate tools or workflows.
Parcelhero says it serves millions of users each year through its UK courier comparison and shipping platform. The market for parcel booking and shipping software has become increasingly competitive as providers try to attract more small business customers with easier booking, lower error rates, and greater visibility over deliveries.
In a second statement, Sumner-Rivers said: "This upgrade is just the first in a series of new features and improvements Parcelhero is launching this year. We will shortly be introducing Parcelhero Pro and ParcelVision. The result will be a unified shipping platform that helps individuals send parcels easily and enables businesses to automate, scale and control their delivery operations with confidence."
