Moca Foundation and Moca Network have launched the Moca Chain mainnet, a network designed for digital identity across online applications.

The launch also expands AIR, Moca Network's product layer for identity, payments and loyalty built on Moca Chain, through a group of enterprise, infrastructure and data partners.

Moca Chain is intended to let users carry verified credentials, such as identity records or membership status, between services without repeatedly submitting the underlying documents. Instead of passing copies of personal records from platform to platform, the system is designed to return a certified confirmation of a user's status when an application makes a query.

The approach is intended to address a common problem in digital identity systems, where users often repeat verification checks across separate platforms. That process can leave personal data spread across multiple services and increase exposure to security risks.

AIR sits on top of the network as an integration layer that companies can use to connect identity checks, payments and rewards functions. Businesses can use it either to convert existing customer verification checks into credentials on Moca Chain or to accept credentials issued by other trusted parties, according to Moca Network.

The model also targets the growing use of AI agents in online transactions. As software agents increasingly carry out tasks such as shopping, booking and registration for users, merchants and service providers face a new verification challenge: confirming both the identity of the person behind the agent and the limits of the authority granted to it.

Moca Network said AIR allows users to set permissions and authorisation rules for AI agents. Businesses can then check the identity of the agent and its human owner, and verify what actions the agent is allowed to take before providing access, pricing, services or offers.

Partner network

The ecosystem linked to the launch includes consumer platforms, financial technology groups, loyalty schemes and agent-led commerce services. Named partners include SK Planet, Biletinial, Oyunfor, Open Campus, OneFootball, Automobili Lamborghini, Inveo Kripto, Plume and Nansen.

Moca Network is part of the broader Animoca Brands portfolio. The group said the network brings together more than 600 portfolio companies and reaches more than 700 million addressable users across its ecosystem.

The chain uses a decentralised verification model in which organisations such as financial platforms, telecommunications operators, retailers and ticketing providers can verify user data and issue verifiable credentials. Those credentials are held by users themselves, who decide when and where to share them.

The system also allows credentials to be updated or revoked, with changes reflected across the network. That means applications connected to Moca Chain can detect modifications without asking users to resubmit fresh proof or full identity documents each time they interact with a new service.

Data control

The companies are positioning the launch as much around privacy as efficiency. By limiting the transfer of raw personal information and replacing it with digitally certified confirmations, they say businesses can reduce the amount of customer data they hold while still carrying out checks.

That matters for companies handling agent-based transactions because an automated system may need access to identity, payment and permissions data across several services to complete a task. Moca Network said its architecture is designed to let those checks happen without handing every platform the same full set of personal documents.

Yat Siu, Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of Animoca Brands, said: "Users should not be forced to surrender sensitive personal information redundantly every time they use a new service and platform-not only is the process time-consuming and tedious, but it also stifles competition by erecting barriers to alternative merchants and providers, keeping users locked in to the platforms where they are already authenticated. As more and more AI agents navigate the digital economy on behalf of more and more people, Moca Chain is ideally positioned to provide individuals with sovereign ownership of their credentials, and to give businesses a mechanism that can establish trust without unnecessary data custody."

Kenneth Shek, Managing Director of Moca Network, described the network as a trust framework for sharing identity data between people, businesses and software agents.

He added: "Moca Chain is the foundational infrastructure for availability of identity data and auditability of identity states. Scalable data sharing is necessary for AI agents to act on behalf of humans, however the trust framework for delegation and authority is lacking. In the past, platforms have compromised user privacy to enable agent automation. AIR solves this by keeping users in control of their data while enabling AI agents to execute tasks safely and seamlessly via secure, scalable, and privacy-preserved data sharing."
