Lottie has acquired care billing software provider CareMaster, marking its second care software acquisition.

The London-based health technology business said the deal will bring CareMaster's billing software and customer base into its Found platform, which it acquired in 2022 and has since expanded across care homes, home care and supported living.

CareMaster has operated for 25 years and works with nearly 75 care providers representing more than 750 care home locations across the UK. The combined businesses are expected to support nearly 2,500 care services by the end of 2026.

The acquisition adds a specialist billing system to Found at a time when providers are under pressure from rising costs and staff shortages. Lottie expects Found and CareMaster to handle £3 billion in annual care invoicing by the first half of 2027, up from more than £1 billion through Found today.

Lottie, which is backed by Accel and General Catalyst, has raised more than £25 million. It first moved into care software with the purchase of Found, when the platform supported fewer than 100 care home locations.

Since then, it has rebuilt Found as an AI-native platform and expanded its use beyond care homes. Found's paying provider base is on track to nearly treble during 2026.

The social care sector has faced growing pressure to digitise administrative work as demand rises and budgets remain tight. Lottie pointed to figures showing councils in England ended 2025/26 £715 million over budget as care costs increased for a fourth consecutive year, while adult social care still had about 96,000 vacancies.

Billing focus

With CareMaster now part of the group, Lottie plans to focus more heavily on billing, payments, reconciliation and credit control. It aims to reduce the manual work involved in running care businesses and extend its software across more of the customer journey.

Will Donnelly, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Lottie, said: "Social care is one of the largest service-led industries globally, but behind the delivery of care there is still a huge amount of administration and manual work involved in running a care business. That makes it a sector where we believe AI can have a hugely positive impact, reducing administrative burden, improving efficiency and freeing up teams to spend more time on what matters most: serving prospective customers and delivering great care. Crucially, we believe that can all happen while preserving the deeply human-led nature of the industry.

"We've already seen what's possible with Found. When we acquired the business in 2022, it was supporting fewer than 100 care home locations. By the end of 2026, it will support nearly 2,500 care services, and we've rebuilt the platform from the ground up to be AI-native."

The next stage of development will start with credit control before moving into other administrative processes.

"Acquiring CareMaster has given us access to 25 years of specialist knowledge in one of the most complex parts of running a care business and an opportunity to deliver better for more care providers," Donnelly said.

Lottie's longer-term aim is to connect more of the process from an initial family care enquiry through to provider payment. It is also targeting record commercial growth as it builds on the combined Found and CareMaster platform.

CareMaster's founders said they had already spent time working with Lottie ahead of the transaction.

Bob Grimshaw and Colin Rooke, Co-Founders of CareMaster, said: "Joining the Lottie team over the past 24 months has been a brilliant experience. It's clear that Will and the wider Found team care as much about our partners as we do.

"We're confident Lottie is the right home for CareMaster, and we couldn't be more excited to see our partners migrating to a far more advanced, future-proofed platform."
