Digident has launched FleetStart Radar for fleet suppliers in the West Midlands. The service uses official UK public data to flag sales leads and roadworks risks.

The platform draws on selected records from the Traffic Commissioners for Great Britain goods-vehicle Applications and Decisions publications, the Care Quality Commission location directory, and the Department for Transport Street Manager roadworks feed.

It is designed to turn those sources into searchable signals and workflow tools, rather than leaving customers to work through weekly PDF notices, large directories, and live technical feeds. Each opportunity links back to the original public source so users can check the context before acting.

Three workflows

One part of the product, FleetStart opportunity radar, tracks selected operator licence activity in the West Midlands. It highlights new applications, variation applications, grants, changes to authorised vehicles or trailers, and operating-centre activity.

Each signal includes the organisation name, licence reference, trigger, publication date, a plain-English explanation of why it may merit further research, and a score intended to reduce routine noise. An application should not be treated as proof of a licence outcome or a vehicle sale, and users are directed to the official publication for verification.

A second element, CQC Start Signals, combines a live searchable directory of current care locations with a separate change-monitoring process for new registrations or location changes detected after a baseline has been established. That separation is intended to show when there is genuinely no unseen change, rather than suggesting a feed has failed.

Roadworks JobGuard is the third main workflow. Customers can save a job location and planned date, and the platform checks received roadworks events against those jobs to create an early warning for planners to review possible access, parking, loading, or arrival issues.

JobGuard does not assume every nearby roadworks event blocks access, and it does not replace live navigation, traffic instructions, or operational judgement. Instead, it gives service teams a prompt to investigate before an engineer, service van, or vehicle is dispatched.

Regional focus

The launch is limited to the West Midlands so local sales and service teams can focus on a manageable territory rather than receive a nationwide stream of information outside their coverage area. The target market includes businesses selling vehicles, trailers, leasing, telematics, insurance, compliance, maintenance, tyres, fuel, charging, and conversions to commercial fleets.

The private customer portal includes research shortcuts for organisations and decision-makers, along with notes, pipeline status, and CSV export. Users can log in when needed or choose a controlled daily digest, weekly digest, or portal-only access, with email delivery restricted to the selected schedule.

The approach reflects a broader attempt to reduce repeated alert noise during the day. The product is positioned as research and workflow software rather than a contact database, a regulatory decision service, or any guarantee of commercial intent.

Customers are expected to verify public records themselves, assess whether a signal is relevant, and ensure any outreach is conducted lawfully and appropriately. Payment details are handled through GoCardless rather than being collected directly by FleetStart.

Pricing model

Digident is offering founding access to the first 20 eligible customers at GBP £59.99 a month or GBP £599.90 a year. The annual option is priced at the equivalent of two months free.

After those places are taken, the standard regional price rises to GBP £99.99 a month or GBP £999.90 a year. The platform manages the availability of the founding allocation automatically.

Simon Banner, director at Digident, outlined the thinking behind the service. "A static company list can tell a salesperson who exists, but it rarely explains why today is a sensible time to research the account. We built FleetStart Radar to add that timing and context while keeping the public evidence visible. The same principle applies to roadworks: a national feed only becomes useful to an operations team when it is connected to a real customer job," Banner said.
