Bonx raises USD $8.6m to scale AI ERP for Europe’s factories

Yesterday

Paris-based Bonx has secured USD $8.6 million in seed funding to support mid-market manufacturers in Europe with its AI-powered ERP platform.

The funding round was led by 9900 Capital with additional investment from Kima Ventures, Purple, OSS Ventures, and Dynamo Ventures. Bonx, founded in 2022 by Alexandre Barroux and Rémi Beges within OSS Ventures, provides an enterprise resource planning solution tailored specifically for the operational realities of mid-sized manufacturing firms.

Industry context

Europe's manufacturing sector is experiencing increased strain. Many mid-market factories are contending with heightened global competition and more intricate supply chain dynamics. Traditional ERP systems, described by Bonx as outdated, do not meet the present requirements for speed or customisability. In response, manufacturers are seeking technology that integrates more efficiently with existing workflows and supports operational optimisation without necessitating wholesale system replacement.

Technology and deployment

Bonx's platform combines no-code configuration, AI-based functionality, and rapid deployment capabilities. According to the company, its system can be integrated with established environments within three to ten weeks, offering improved visibility and control across areas such as production, logistics, procurement, and quality management. Importantly, Bonx states that its technology operates alongside a manufacturer's existing finance and CRM systems, aiming to complement rather than replace these tools.

The platform's user interface is aimed at both supply chain teams and operators, presenting information visually and modularly to enable more adaptable usage. The company reports that this intuitive design allows factories to shape ERP processes to their production requirements, rather than adapting their operations to rigid software frameworks.

Growth plans

Bonx has outlined plans to use the recent seed investment to expand its workforce, further develop its product offering, and accelerate its scaling efforts in Italy and Spain, two countries which constitute key markets for European manufacturing. The company's technology is already in use by suppliers to Décathlon and brands such as French Bloom in France, Italy, and Spain.

"Our mission remains clear: empower manufacturers to simplify and take control of their operations through technology that adapts to their precise needs. This funding propels us into our next phase - becoming Europe's definitive ERP leader for mid-sized manufacturers, expanding our successful model from France into new key markets while scaling in Italy and Spain," said Alexandre Barroux, CEO of Bonx.

The company emphasises that its focus is on supporting manufacturers facing regulatory changes, fragmented supplier bases, and mounting sustainability goals. To this end, Bonx cites its compatibility with existing systems and its capacity to facilitate operational clarity without eliminating legacy software as a clear advantage.

Integration and operational approach

Rémi Beges, CTO of Bonx, highlighted the platform's integration capabilities:

"By focusing exclusively on manufacturing and supply-chain operations, we've built Bonx to integrate effortlessly with existing tools, particularly general ledgers and CRM solutions that our customers already rely on and love. Manufacturers don't have to replace the systems they're accustomed to; Bonx complements and enhances their stack and acts as their operational backbone," said Rémi Beges, CTO of Bonx.

The company notes that many mid-sized manufacturers across France, Germany, Italy, and Spain continue to use ERP software established in previous decades, or in some cases, spreadsheets. According to Bonx, systems that are rigid or require custom development make it more challenging for manufacturers to keep pace with today's operational demands.

Investor perspective

Juliette Sylvain, Principal at 9900 Capital, commented on the investment and the sector:

"Bonx is redefining the ERP landscape by combining extraordinary implementation speeds with genuinely impactful AI-driven capabilities, driving enormous efficiencies within an industry plagued by legacy software. We are excited to support Bonx as it sets a new industry standard and scales across Europe," commented Juliette Sylvain, Principal at 9900 Capital.

With this funding, Bonx is positioning itself as an alternative provider for European mid-market manufacturers seeking modern ERP technology that can adapt rapidly to industry changes. The company's stated objective is to establish itself as the operational backbone for industrial businesses throughout the continent, focusing on providing scalable and flexible digital infrastructure for manufacturing execution.
