Hannah Kimuyu promoted to CEO at Brave Bison

Yesterday

Media and technology company Brave Bison has announced the promotion of Hannah Kimuyu to the newly established position of CEO, Performance and Commerce.

Kimuyu, previously Managing Director of Performance, will now oversee a comprehensive team exceeding 120 personnel, operating across more than 30 markets. Her focus will be on crafting integrated, audience-centric solutions in performance media and commerce technology for several prestigious clients, including New Balance, Curry's, Asus, ProCook, Furniture Village, Ingenico, Target Sport, and Banham Security.

The new ecommerce-centric division is set to serve as the core of Brave Bison's strategic initiatives throughout 2025 and in the following years. This will involve collaboration with the company's established AI team, which has developed proprietary tools such as AudienceGPT—a strategic planning tool harnessing silicon audiences—and AdStudio, an AI-enabled performance creative solution capable of generating high-performing assets promptly and on a large scale. These tools have demonstrated significant returns on ad spend for clients such as Seasalt Cornwall and The Travel Corporation.

Kimuyu will guide the expanded team to create agile solutions at the convergence of media and technology. Key areas of focus will include technical SEO migration, conversion rate optimisation, UX consultancy, and bespoke performance measurement. The team will also continue to work in close partnership with other Brave Bison teams, including the social and influencer agency SocialChain and the recently acquired sports marketing agency, Engage Digital Partners.

Hannah Kimuyu began her career at Greenlight Digital in 2004 and ascended to the role of Managing Director before the company was acquired by Brave Bison in 2021. Her career accolades include being named a Drum 30 under 30 winner and a Campaign 40 over 40 winner. She is actively involved with WACL and often featured on the PMW Powerlist. Her career has seen her deliver award-winning campaigns for brands such as Nespresso, New Balance, Superdry, and ghd, with a strong emphasis on international brand expansion through performance media and innovation on new platforms.

A dedicated advocate for diversity and inclusion, Kimuyu has diligently worked towards driving systemic changes within the media sector. She has led Greenlight Digital's participation in the Advertising Association's All In Census, consulted on WPP's Racism in Algorithms research, and collaborated with the Women's Resource Centre to help them secure a digital marketing budget, facilitating campaigns that safeguard women and girls across the UK.

Oli Green, Executive Chairman of Brave Bison, expressed his confidence in Kimuyu's appointment, saying: "I am thrilled to have Hannah stepping up to lead Brave Bison's enlarged Performance and Commerce practice. She is an empathetic, driven and outcome-focused leader—implicitly trusted and respected by clients and her team alike. As the lines continue to blur between technology, media and content, I have every faith that she and her team will help our clients outpace their competition by building truly innovative, agile solutions."

Kimuyu herself remarked: "I couldn't be prouder to have the opportunity to bring together two of the most innovative business practices in Brave Bison to help our clients join the dots between their media and commerce technology in support of future growth. There's a reason I've been part of this business for over twenty years – the people – I have so much gratitude for the committed, forward-thinking teams that have got us to where we are today, and I can't wait to work with them all as CEO to build new solutions to tomorrow's challenges."
