Australian retail media giant Zitcha expands into London
Zitcha, the rapidly evolving Australian retail media platform, is extending its global reach by inaugurating an office in London as part of its European advancement strategy. The company has also announced the appointment of Darren Jacobs and Dan Sands as EMEA sales directors to facilitate this strategic move.
Zitcha's commendable retail media platform amalgamates onsite, offsite, and in-store commodities and has already made impressive headway with retailers in seven countries, including Coles Group (Australia), The Warehouse Group (New Zealand), Peavey Mart (Canada), and Axonet (US). Significant global brands such as Unilever, Fisher & Paykel, and Microsoft count amongst its trusted associates.
The European retail media market is witnessing rapid maturation as retailers and brands seek omnichannel solutions to consolidate their existing services and streamline their operations to capitalise on the third wave of digital advertising. This sector is predicted to reach its zenith in the UK. Forecasts from eMarketer anticipate that ad spending will almost double to USD $7.91 billion by 2027, up from USD $4 billion in 2024.
Zitcha CEO Troy Townsend commented on this move: "We've had many discussions with major players in the UK/EMEA market during the last 6-12 months and perceive it as mature and innovative with a host of prominent retail media networks. We already have partners and some achievements in the UK, and I am convinced about the growth potential of our solution, including its scalability and ability to expand brand and retail businesses."
Townsend further emphasised this move, "We're excited to already be working with leaders in this space and to now welcome the invaluable experience both Darren and Dan bring. Their knowledge will be extraordinary in establishing the tone and culture for Zitcha in the UK. Expect more in the near future as we identify Europe as a critical region for us."
Dan Sands, with over ten years of retail experience, has made significant contributions to retail media as EMEA sales director for CitrusAds. His primary role has been to assist brands and retailers globally to optimise their shopper engagement efforts. Sands praised Zitcha, stating, "Zitcha helps retailers in a way which no other retail media platform can. It's the channel with the most excitement around it right now, and we'll be here for all European retailers and brands to build on those expectations within the sector."
Darren Jacobs, who joins Zitcha with nearly two decades of sales experience across various markets, including the UK, Singapore, and Australia, remarked, "Zitcha is genuinely a one-stop-platform for brands and retailers. Retail media provides so much opportunity and is the fastest-growing advertising sector. Its growth has been rapid, and with Zitcha's European arrival, that's only set to act as a further catalyst for maturation."
