Mon, 30th Dec 2024

Searchspring has announced unprecedented search volume and performance during the 2024 Black Friday and Cyber Monday period.

The ecommerce site search, merchandising, and personalisation company reported that over 11 billion search requests were processed in November, a 55% increase compared to the previous year. Notably, 2.6 billion requests occurred during the Black Friday and Cyber Monday timeframe alone. Searchspring maintained 100% uptime throughout, enabling uninterrupted sales opportunities for merchants.

Peak demand reached a remarkable 1.75 million search requests per minute on Black Friday, demonstrating the significant traffic surge during this period.

Mobile devices dominated ecommerce activities, accounting for 68% of visits and 65% of orders. Searchspring reported that implementing AI-driven solutions, such as predictive bundling and personalised recommendations, contributed to a 10% increase in average order value (AOV).

Merchants utilising Searchspring's Intelligent Reach solutions also experienced benefits. These included average revenue growth of 7.6% across campaigns, with tailored keyword strategies enhancing visibility and improving click-through rates. Additionally, incremental short-term revenue boosts from campaigns averaged USD $12,000 each.

Emerging ecommerce trends identified by Searchspring include the continued dominance of mobile commerce, underscoring the necessity for streamlined mobile experiences. The importance of AI-powered search to enhance conversion rates by reducing zero-result searches and abandonment was also highlighted. Furthermore, the demand for personalisation remains strong, as shoppers increasingly expect predictive recommendations and bespoke experiences. Finally, the trend towards extended holiday promotions and retargeting is becoming more pronounced.

Searchspring recommends that merchants strengthen their mobile optimisation efforts to improve search and checkout conversions. The company also advises investing in AI to deliver pertinent search results and curb cart abandonment. The company stresses the need for scalable infrastructure to accommodate peak traffic without resulting in downtime. Another recommended strategy is leveraging extended promotional campaigns to boost customer engagement.

Looking towards 2025, Searchspring is set to prioritise innovations aligned with these emerging trends. The focus will be on enhancing mobile-first commerce through generative AI and predictive analytics, providing hyper-personalised recommendations, aiding merchants in anticipating customer needs, and encouraging repeat purchases.

To expand global reach, the Intelligent Connector Hub is being developed to support seamless integrations and multi-language capabilities. This feature aims to ensure precise, context-aware search results. Further advancements in AI-driven product bundling are also planned. These advancements are intended to enable merchants to craft smart and relevant product combinations, thereby boosting AOV and customer satisfaction.

These planned developments underscore Searchspring's commitment to equipping merchants with the tools to meet evolving consumer expectations for personalisation and scalability in the ecommerce sector.
