Taboola has appointed Julia Burton Brown as UK Country Manager, coinciding with the company's expansion beyond native advertising into new technological offerings.
Taboola has reported notable momentum in its UK operations during the past year, including the renewal of partnerships with publishers such as Future PLC and Reach PLC. The company has also continued campaigns with advertisers Samsung and Vodafone.
This year, Taboola has introduced Realize, an advertising technology platform designed to support business growth by focusing on measurable performance advertising outcomes that extend beyond traditional search and social media channels.
In line with this shift, Julia Burton Brown has been named as UK Country Manager. In this capacity, she will be responsible for Taboola's updated focus and strategy within the UK market, overseeing the integration and expansion of the new Realize platform.
Julia Burton Brown joins Taboola with more than two decades of industry experience, having previously worked in digital, rich media, influencer marketing, and SaaS. Her career includes senior posts at adtech business Inskin Media and online publisher AuFeminin. Most recently, she served as Managing Director at video versioning and content localisation platform ReMake.
With the new appointment, Taboola intends to further strengthen its publisher relationships in the UK. In October 2024, the company announced a three-year exclusive partnership with National World, a major regional publisher with titles such as the Yorkshire Evening Post and The Scotsman in its portfolio.
Taboola's stated strategy is to empower businesses through advertising technology that provides measurable outcomes on a large scale, utilising its proprietary Realize platform. The company's advertising network is reported to reach around 600 million daily active users, and its technology is employed by a variety of publishers and original equipment manufacturers, including NBC News, Yahoo, Samsung, and Xiaomi.
The company's expansion beyond native advertising follows more than ten years in that sector, with Realize positioned as a platform focussed on delivering performance outcomes at scale comparatively to legacy options.
The new country leadership role aligns with the company's ongoing efforts to grow both advertising outcomes and publisher partnerships within the UK advertising landscape.
