Jim Kane joins Zitcha as global VP of sales strategy
Zitcha, a unified retail media platform founded in Australia, has announced the appointment of Jim Kane as Vice President of Sales - Global.
Jim Kane, renowned for his extensive experience in retail media sales, will be steering Zitcha's global sales strategy. Prior to joining Zitcha, Kane has contributed significantly to the field of shopper marketing, retail media, and adtech. During his tenure at WPP's Triad Retail Media, he led sales for Walmart's Sam's Club division, being instrumental during its integration post-Walmart acquisition. He has also played a critical role in establishing the first retail media network within the sporting goods sector at DICK'S Sporting Goods and has consulted C-suite executives on achieving retail growth strategies.
His new role at Zitcha will involve defining and executing the company's international sales strategy, spearheading revenue growth, and broadening the company's presence globally. Kane will focus on fostering relationships with key retailers, brands, and advertising partners. Additionally, he will refine Zitcha's go-to-market strategy and aim to augment sales performance through data analytics and market intelligence.
Zitcha is recognized as the world's first omnichannel retail media platform, aimed at enabling retailers to maximise their potential by integrating all media assets, whether onsite, offsite, or in-store. The platform offers a comprehensive and scalable means of simplifying and automating processes, enabling brands to utilise retailers' first-party customer data to create personalised and robust advertising experiences.
Nick Hinsley, Zitcha's Chief Revenue Officer, expressed his enthusiasm about Kane's appointment, stating, "After meeting Jim, the decision to bring him on board was an easy one. His firsthand experience with the internal challenges and relationships within a retailer when considering or scaling a retail media network is invaluable. He has broad and deep knowledge of global retailers - those already operating networks and those looking to fast-follow with their own. Importantly, he is passionate about Zitcha's platform, its market position, and long-term vision. He will be a trusted advisor for our team and partners, and is an important addition as we continue to grow Zitcha around the world."
Jim Kane commented on joining Zitcha, "Retail media is evolving quickly, and Zitcha is uniquely positioned to support retailers in building networks that have real impact, for themselves and their brand partners. Built from the retailer's perspective, the Zitcha platform is a game changer for its ability to unify retail media across multiple environments. I'm looking forward to working with the team to further establish Zitcha as the partner of choice for retailers and brands around the globe."
Kane's appointment is part of Zitcha's broader strategy to accelerate its global growth, following recent senior advisory appointments. Former Yahoo and JCPenney Chief Marketing Officer Debra Berman, and Jonathan Waecker, who has held senior marketing and executive roles at companies such as Yahoo, The Walt Disney Company, Zynga, and The Warehouse Group in New Zealand, have also joined Zitcha in advisory capacities.
