Cegid boosts Middle East presence with new Dubai Point of Delivery
Fri, 19th Apr 2024

Retail technology firm Cegid has expanded its global footprint with an investment in a new Point of Delivery (PoD) in Dubai. This strategic move targets retailers operating across the Middle East and evidences the company's commitment to playing an influential role in the region's growing fashion and luxury market.

As a European player in cloud management solutions for finance, human resources, accountancy, retail and entrepreneurship sectors, Cegid's new PoD is expected to further bolster its reputation as an industry pioneer in the Middle East. According to insights from the Boston Consulting Group, the region's fashion and luxury market is predicted to reach a sizeable USD $30-$35 billion. With this investment in the region's infrastructure, Cegid showcases both confidence and dedication to meet and exceed customer expectations.

Several major brands and regional retailers, including Clarins, Abu Issa, Ahmed Seddiqi & Son, Al Malki, Lazurde, and Asia Jewellers, are expected to profit from this strategic investment.

The new PoD will also aid these customers in complying with local laws and regulations relating to data privacy and localisation across the Middle East. Expected Executive Regulations will add to the UAE's consumer rights protection in e-commerce transactions and enhance consumer data protection, providing guarantees on how and where customer data can be used. In this context, the PoD will pave a future-proof path for customers operating across the region.

Driss Iziki, MEA Director for Cegid, said, "Opening our newest PoD in Dubai was the logical next step, considering the number of retailers we support in the region and our growing customer base. We are confident that this investment will not only empower our current clients but will also serve as a cornerstone for the anticipated annual onboarding of 15-20 new client brands."

"The new PoD will ensure that as we grow our customer base in this region, we can elevate customer experiences and unlock greater value and efficiency for the retailers we work with," said Iziki.

The addition of the Dubai PoD marks the fifth international PoD in Cegid's expanding global infrastructure. This addition joins the ranks of existing locations in China, Singapore, the United States, and Ireland. More than 700 retail customers of Cegid are already hosted in the cloud worldwide, benefitting from enhanced performance offered through their global network.

Cegid's recent investment in a new Point of Delivery (PoD) in Dubai represents a strategic expansion aimed at better-serving retailers in the Middle East. This move underscores Cegid's recognition of the region's growing fashion and luxury market and its commitment to providing tailored solutions to meet the needs of local businesses. By establishing a presence in Dubai, Cegid aims to enhance support for its existing clients and attract new brands seeking innovative retail technology solutions. Additionally, the new PoD will enable Cegid to ensure compliance with local regulations and offer efficient, future-proof services to retailers across the region.
